Description
Urban sunglasses from the VIBE collection are designed for active children who move between both city life and nature. The sharp square design gives the sunglasses a modern and sporty look. The semi-thick temples are made from a slightly translucent material and feature a flexible 180° hinge, allowing them to open wide without damaging the frame. The even matte finish adds character, while the translucent effect keeps the design visually light. The model is available in two sizes: 4–7 and 7–12 years, fitting different face shapes comfortably. Maximum sun protection Category 1 polarized lenses provide maximum protection from the sun. The lenses filter 100% of UV radiation (UVA, UVB, UVC) and include a blue light filter that reduces glare and improves visual comfort in bright light. Polarization makes vision clearer in reflections from water, sand, and asphalt. Safety and comfort The Urban model is designed to withstand even more intensive use. The 180° opening temples, lightweight construction, and ergonomic shape ensure all-day comfort without pressure. Included accessories and additional information The set includes a microfiber pouch suitable for storing and cleaning the sunglasses. If desired, the frame can also be fitted with prescription lenses (through an optician). Use Although Kietla sunglasses are very durable and the frame is unbreakable, they are not a toy. Please make sure your child does not rub them against stones or chew on them. Otherwise, the lenses may become scratched. Should children and babies wear sunglasses? Babies’ and children’s eyes need especially careful protection from harmful sunlight on hot, sunny summer days, because their natural eye protection is still low: a child’s pupils are wider, the lens of the eye is clearer, and children also tend to look upward more often than adults. This means they are at greater risk of eye damage caused by excessive sun exposure. Do ordinary dark lenses also protect children’s and babies’ eyes? It is not the dark tint of the lens that protects the eyes from sunlight, but UV protection. Wearing sunglasses with merely darkened lenses and no UV protection is extremely dangerous for the eyes, because the eye’s natural protective mechanisms — squinting and pupil constriction — do not respond properly behind dark lenses. As a result, significantly more UV radiation can reach the eyes than when no sunglasses are worn at all.
